Dino Derby Trivia Trivia Stripes, Watts, Gabby, Starla and Darington don't appear in this episode. This is Zeg's second appearance in Season 6. In production order, this is the third episode of the sixth season. This is Blaze’s fifth dinosaur episode since Zeg and the Egg, Dino Dash, Dinosaur Parade, and T-Rex Trouble. Zeg spends the episode with Blaze again after Zeg and the Egg, Dinosaur Parade, The Big Ant-venture and T-Rex Trouble. This also marked the longest time it took for Zeg to use Blazing Speed since The Midnight Mile back in Season 4. This is the first time Crusher and Pickle have been partners for a race. This is the second episode to have an entire music video sequence after Babysitting Heroes. This is the second time that a race has the word "Derby" in it. The first was the Polar Derby in the episode of the same name. This is the first episode to premiere in 2021. Crusher wears a dinosaur costume, reflecting that of his cheetah costume that he wore through the entirety of Ready, Set, Roar!. This is the second time there is a dance sequence at the end of the episode. The first was in "Power Tires". If one notices Crusher's face at the end, he is still shown to be mad after losing to Blaze. Blaze transforms into a dinosaur for the first time since Dino Dash. This marks the third time Crusher makes up jokes after all of his cheats following Race to Eagle Rock and The Flying Lion. AJ's Visor View gets a new chime sound design as of this episode. This episode is where Crusher never invented robots, shooting gadgets, etc, in a race. This is the first episode where parentheses are shown, in this case, the coordinates. Running Gags Pickle explaining to Crusher the many things dinosaurs use to protect themselves, leading to a thing that doesn't fit in, causing it to drop straight out of the sky out of nowhere onto Crusher. Crusher telling jokes after every cheat that he does. Allusions Goofs Some times the stegosauruses are green, but at other times they're red.
