Light Riders Transcript Transcript It's nighttime and Blaze, AJ, Stripes, Darington, Zeg and Starla are having a race together. Blaze Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Darington Whoo! Stripes Yeah-heh! Starla Yee-haw! Blaze Oh-ho, yeah! Zeg Hee hee hee! Starla Whoo-hoo! Gabby Whoo-hoo-hoo! Joe Go, Blaze! Gus It's your time to shine, buddy! Bump Bumperman Oh, ho! What a race! It may be dark out here, but these racers are really lighting up the track! Darington Nice one, Blaze! Zeg Whoo! Stripes Rawwr! Starla Shoo-whee! Blaze (to the viewer:) Oh, hey there! AJ and I are in the middle of a special night race! Pans up to the floodlights lighting up the racetrack. AJ With those bright lights, we can race even though it's dark out. More racing. Starla Yee-haw! Zeg Whee-hee-hee-hee-hee! Darington Racing at night sure was a bright idea! (chuckles) Get it? A bright idea? Blaze Ha-ha! Come on, guys! One more lap to go! Stripes Rawwr! See you at the finish line! They race more. Up the street, a kangaroo dressed in a thieve's mask, hat, and cape is stealing bulbs from the streetlights and placing them into her sack. Light Thief Ha ha ha hoo! Haha! (sings:) Lights, lights, lights for me! I take every light I see! Ha ha hoo hoo! She stops and sees the racetrack. Light Thief Wow! Those are the biggest lights I've ever seen! Wait a sec...I got an idea. I should take those lights...for me! Hoo hoo! Ha ha ha! The race is still going on. Starla Yee-haw! The Light Thief begins taking all the bulbs from the floodlights. Light Thief Whoopee! Whoo-hoo!  The lights shut off in the stands. Trucks The lights are out!/It's so dark! Gus Hey! Joe, is that you? (bumps him) Joe I-I don't know, Gus. I-I can't see! More lights are stolen. Light Thief Whoo-hoo! On the racetrack, the lights shut off. Starla What in tarnation?! I can't see! Darington Me neither! (crashes into some tires) Zeg It too dark! (hits some barrels) Whoa! The Monster Machines lose control. Monster Machines (indistinct yelling) Bump Oh, my! For some strange reason, the whole racetrack has gone totally dark! Now, none of the racers can see where they're going! They come to a stop; Gabby comes over to see if they're okay. Gabby Are you guys okay? Darington Whoa...whoa...I think so. Stripes How did it get so dark all of a sudden? Blaze Someone must've taken all the lights. Light Thief (in distance) Whoo-hee! AJ Hey, look over there! The Light Thief steals the previous of the floodlights. Light Thief Whoo-hoo! Ha ha ha ha! AJ It's a bouncing kangaroo! Now she steals bulbs from streetlights. Light Thief (sings:) Lights from here, lights from there! I'll take lights from everywhere! Ha-ha! Blaze Gaskets! That kangaroo's stealing all the lights! Light Thief Ha-ha! Blaze She's...a Light Thief! Light Thief Ha-ha-ha-hoo! Ha-ha! She bounces out of sight. Starla Come on, fellers! We can't let that Light Thief get away with all our lights! Darington We've gotta stop her! They take off. Zeg Zeeeeeeg! Stripes Whoo-hoo! Starla Yaaaaahoo! Unfortunately, they crash again. Zeg That not work. Darington It's too dark! Stripes We can't catch the Light Thief if we can't see where we're going! AJ dismounts. Blaze Hmm, to catch someone when it's dark out, we need to have lights. Gabby I think I've got just the thing. She opens her toolbox and gets out a special battery; she puts in it in Blaze which makes several quantities of him light up. Gabby These are your brand new speed lights! The others check him out. Zeg Ooh! Darington Wow! Starla Whoo-whee! Stripes With those lights, you can see in the dark! AJ gets on. Blaze Yeah-heh! I'm a Light Rider! AJ All right! Blaze Now let's go catch that thief and bring back all the lights! He sets off through the dark city; travel song starts. Tommy Leonard Another day, another adventure We could do it if we do it together Rev it up, let's hit the road! 1, 2, 3, let's go! Blazing amazing No one can stop us now (We can't stop!) We're blazing and racing (Yeah!) To save the day, we'll show you ho-ow Who-o-oa (We've got velocity!) Who-o-oa (Speed is what we need!) Who-o-oa Come on everyone, Let's Blaze! Song ends; the Light Thief steals more lights. Light Thief (sings:) Lights, lights, lights galore! I think it's time to take some more! Ooh, like this one! And that one! Ooh, and that one, ha-ha! She sees a lit tunnel and bounces toward it. Light Thief Whoopee!! Ha ha ha ha ha! Whoo-hoo! She steals the lights one by one; Blaze comes up the street. Blaze Quick! The Light Thief went into that tunnel! He enters; clucking is heard. AJ Blaze, did you hear something? Blaze Yeah, it kinda sounds like... A chicken comes out of the darkness. Blaze and AJ A chicken? Two more join. AJ Uh-oh, those are night chickens! They peck Blaze all over. Blaze Ooh! Ah...eek! Hey!  AJ Whoa, let's get outta here! Blaze hurries back the other way. Blaze WHOAAAAA!!! Commercial break; repeats from when the chickens appear. Blaze Hey!  AJ Whoa! Let's get outta here! Blaze hurries back the other way. Blaze WHOAAAAA!!! He gets out of the tunnel. Blaze Phew! AJ What to we do, Blaze? Those night chickens would really like to peck us and this tunnel is full of 'em! Blaze Hmm...night chickens only like to come out when it's dark. So...let's use our speed lights to make the tunnel really bright! That'll make the night chickens go away! AJ Yeah! Light is energy you can see. So if we send more energy from our battery into our lights... Blaze's lights briefly gleam brighter. AJ They'll shine bright enough to chase away the night chickens! Blaze Come on, let's try it! He reenters the tunnel. Blaze (to the viewer:) Tell me when you see a night chicken, and I'll make my speed lights shine really bright. Cut to behind him. Blaze When you see a chicken coming, say "Chicken." After some time, the first night chicken appears; viewer responds. Blaze and AJ Chicken! He shines bright and the chicken squacks in fright and runs away. Blaze Yeah-heh! AJ It worked! When we made our speed lights really bright, that night chicken ran away. Blaze Let's keep going. But be on the lookout for more night chickens. Behind shot. Blaze If you see a chicken coming, say "Chicken." Time passes; another chicken appears, viewer responds. Blaze and AJ Chicken! He shines again, scaring the chicken away. Blaze Whoo-hoo! AJ Awesome! Now keep looking, there are still more night chickens hiding out there in the dark. Behind shot. Blaze When you see a chicken coming, say "Chicken." After some time, the chicken appears; viewer responds. Blaze and AJ Chicken! Shine; the chicken runs away. Blaze Yes! If you see another one, say "Chicken." Time passes, the chicken appears; viewer responds. Blaze and AJ Chicken! Shine; that chicken also runs away. Blaze Just one more! When you see the last chicken, say "Chicken." Time passes, the last chicken appears; viewer responds. Blaze and AJ Chicken! Shine; the last chicken runs away. Blaze Whoo-hoo! AJ Look, there's the way out! Blaze makes it out. Blaze Yeah-heh! We made it past the night chickens! AJ Way to use those speed lights, Blaze! Blaze Now come on! We've gotta catch that Light Thief before she takes every light in Axle City! He hurries through the dark; STEM song starts. Blaze Gonna shine a light It's a type of energy Make it shine bright With luminosity AJ Blazin' through the night Movin' at the speed of light Oh, oh, oh, oh Shine a light Blaze Light is energy that you can see AJ Light the night Make it brighter, just increase the energy Blaze and AJ Light is energy Energy that you can see Yeah, yea-ah We're gonna shine a light Blaze Shine a light Rays of light, they illuminate the dark AJ Light the night From the sun or a little tiny spark Blaze and AJ Light is energy Energy that you can see Yeah, yea-ah We're gonna shine a light Song ends; elsewhere at the park, Pickle is driving around with a flashlight. Pickle (singing:) Doo-bee-doo, la-la-la-la-la... (stops) Ooh, look! (he finds...) A penny! (gasps; next is...) And a flower!  Now he finds Crusher, who winces from the light. Crusher Eek! Pickle And a Crusher! Hey, Crusher! Check out my flashlight! I'm using it to find stuff in the dark. Wanna try? Crusher Ha! I don't need a flashlight to find stuff in the dark! He finds a shadow. Crusher See? I just found a yummy sandwiiich! (giggles; chomps) Mmm-mmm! This is some sandwich, and best of all, I found it without your flashlight! Pickle Ooh! Let me see! He shines the flashlight on Crusher's "sandwich"; it's really an old shoe. Pickle Wow, your sandwich looks just like a shoe! Crusher Pffft, that's because... (sees it) it is a shoe! (spits disgustedly) On a street, a truck juggles watermelons when the Light Thief comes up the road stealing bulbs from streetlights. Light Thief Whoo-hoo! Wah ha ha ho! Whoo-hoo! Ah ha ha! Whoo-hoo, ah ha ha ha! The light above the juggling truck goes out; he drops his watermelons. Juggling Truck Ah...whoa-oh-oh! Oh-oh-oh! (ducks) Blaze catches the watermelons just in time. Juggling Truck Phew! Thank you, Blaze! Light Thief (in distance) Whee-hee-hee-hee-hee! AJ Look! There goes the Light Thief! Light Thief Hoo-hoo! Ah ha! Blaze Come on, AJ! Gimmie some speed! He sets off; now the Light Thief comes to the construction site. Light Thief Whoo-hoo! (sings:) Those ones up there are nice and bright! I'll need a boost to get those lights! She steals them. Light Thief Whoopee! She hits a switch on one of the cranes, causing it to move. Light Thief Whoo-hoo! She activates another; Blaze comes. AJ Blaze, look out! One crane drops the big pipe it's holding right in front of him. Blaze Yah! Another drops in his other direction. Blaze Whoo! Hubcaps, we're trapped! AJ Oh, no! We've gotta find a way out of here! (gets off) Blaze (to the viewer:) What we need is something super strong that can cut through these metal pipes! Something like...a laser! AJ Yeah! A laser can make a special light that's so strong, it can cut through almost anything! Blaze Come on! Help turn me into a Monster Machine Laser! Transformation interface appears. Blaze First, we need a flashtube. It's the part that makes light for our laser. To make the flashtube, say "Flashtube." Flashtube! Flashtube materializes. Blaze Great! Now we need a crystal rod. It turns the normal light into special laser light. To make the crystal rod, say "Crystal rod." Crystal rod! Crystal rod materializes. Blaze And last, we need the mirrors. They bounce the laser light back and forth until it gets super powerful. To make the mirrors, say "Mirrors." Mirrors! Mirrors materialize. Blaze Check me out! I'm a Laser Blastin' Mmmmmmonster Machine!! Blaze transforms; AJ boards him and he uses the laser on the pipe, cutting right through. AJ Whoa! We're cutting through metal with light -- laser light! The pipe leaves a gaping hole to drive through. Blaze Yeah-heh! AJ We're free! He drives through the hole. AJ Watch out, Blaze! A crane drops some pipes up ahead. AJ That crane just dropped four pipes! Blaze (to the viewer:) Help me use my laser to cut through all four. Count to four with me. He cuts through one pipe at a time. Blaze One...two...three...four! Whoo-hoo! AJ All right! Look out, another crane! It drops pipes as well. AJ And it just threw five pipes! Blaze Help me cut through them with my laser. Count to five. He cuts through them. Blaze One...two...three...four...five! Blaze and AJ Yeah-ah!/Whoo! AJ Way to use that laser! Only one crane left! It also drops pipes. AJ Uh-oh, but it's throwing seven pipes! Blaze Count to seven with me. He cuts them. Blaze One...two...three...four...five...six...seven! Whoo-hoo! He exits the construction site and returns to normal. AJ We made it! Blaze Now nothing can stop us from catching that -- Light Thief (in distance) Whoo-hoo! Up ahead is the... Blaze and AJ Light Thief! AJ There she goes! She steals more lights. Blaze Hang on, AJ! Time to catch that Light Thief once and for all! He hurries down the road; back at the park, Pickle is still using his flashlight. Pickle Crusher! Crusher! I found more stuff with my flashlight, look! (He finds...) A tree! And-and... (next is...) A mailbox! Oh! (now there's...) And another tree! (giggles) Crusher Yeah? Well, I don't need a flashlight to find stuff in the dark. Watch! He finds another shadow. Crusher Aha! I found... a big bowl of spaghetti! (laughs and tastes it) Mmmmmm!!! This spaghetti sure is... stringy! Pickle Ooh! I wanna see! He shines the flashlight on the "spaghetti"; it's really a mop. Crusher Wait, this isn't spaghetti. It's... a mop! (spits disgustedly) Yuck! Now the Light Thief comes to the carnival. Light Thief Ha ha ha ha! A carnival! (sings:) Rides and games, a ferris wheel! So many lights for me to steal! She steals them. Light Thief Whoo, like this one! Ooh, and all of these! Ha ha! She steals more lights; now the carnival is completely dark. Light Thief Ah-ha-ha! Whoo-hoo! Blaze arrives. AJ Look, there she is! Blaze All right, Light Thief! Give us back those lights! Light Thief Uh-oh, I can't give the lights back! Gotta bounce! (bounces away) AJ Follow that kangaroo! Blaze gives chase; commercial break. Scene restarts. Blaze Give us back those lights! Light Thief Uh-oh, I can't give the lights back! Gotta bounce! (bounces away) AJ Follow that kangaroo! Blaze follows but can't find her. Blaze Lugnuts! I can't see where the Light Thief went! AJ This carnival is so big! How are we gonna find her? Starla (in distance) I reckon we can help! The Monster Machines and Gabby on her ATV come forward, all with speed lights. Blaze It's our friends! AJ And they all have speed lights! Starla Yee-haw! Stripes Rawwr! Darington That's right! Zeg Gabby make us shiny! Gabby Now we can help you catch the Light Thief together! Blaze Okay, guys. Let's all increase our energy to make our speed lights super bright. That'll light up the whole carnival. AJ Then we can see where that Light Thief is hiding! Darington Let's do it! Zeg Whoo-hoo-hoo! Starla Yeah! Stripes Increase energy! They shine more. Zeg It working! Darington We're lighting up the carnival! Blaze (to the viewer:) Now let's look for the Light Thief. Pans to some snack stands; the Light Thief is behind some boxes of apples. Blaze Where's the Light Thief hiding? Viewer says where she is; zoom in on her. Blaze By those balloons! Yeah! Light Thief Agh! They see me! (bounces away) Blaze After that kangaroo! They chase her until they stop. Stripes Where'd the Light Thief go? Zeg Zeg not see kangaroo! Blaze Let's make our lights super bright again so we can find the Light Thief. AJ Increase energy! He shines; pans to a popcorn stand, the Light Thief is behind a barrel of them. Blaze Where's the Light Thief hiding? Viewer responds; zoom in on her. Blaze In that popcorn! Yeah! Light Thief Agh! They found me again! (bounces away) Gabby She went that way! AJ Come on, guys! They chase more. Blaze This way, gang! We're so close! They stop. Starla I reckon that Light Thief is hidin' here somewhere. Darington Increase energy! Shine; cuts to the ball toss booth, the Light Thief is amongst the prizes. Blaze Where's the Light Thief hiding? Viewer responds; zoom in on her. Blaze By those stuffed animals! Light Thief Agh! (bounces away) Stripes Rawwr! The Light Thief's getting away! Blaze Not this time! The Light Thief bounces over a barrel; Blaze knocks it into the air and it falls down on her. Light Thief Whoa! Blaze We caught the Light Thief! Rest of Monster Machines and Gabby Whoo-hoo!/Yeah!/All right! Blaze approaches the trapped Light Thief and AJ dismounts. Blaze Okay, Light Thief! Time to give back all those lights! Light Thief No, I...I can't give the lights back! I need them!! AJ But why? Why do you need so many lights? Light Thief Without the lights... (peels off her mask) It's dark. Well, I'm...I'm...afraid of the dark! (sobs) Stripes Ohh, you're afraid of the dark. Starla No wonder she took all those lights. Light Thief (sobs) Blaze (lifts the barrel away) Hey, don't worry. It's okay to be afraid of the dark. Gabby Yeah, everyone's afraid sometimes. Blaze But you don't need to have all these lights to make you feel better. AJ Sometimes, just a little bit of light is all you need. He gives her a small light bulb. Light Thief Whoa, look at that! (puts it on her hat) A tiny light just for me! Blaze So, how do you feel now? Light Thief Ah...I don't feel afraid anymore! Ah ha ha ha ha, whoo! (sings:) I'm not afraid, 'cause now I see! A little light's enough for me! Ha ha! Monster Machines, AJ and Gabby (cheering) Light Thief Thank you, Monster Machines! I'm really sorry I took all the lights. And I promise, I'll never do it again! Zeg Yay! Gabby Good for you! Starla Now come on, y'all, let's put these lights back where they belong! Stripes Oh, man! Bringing all those lights back is gonna be a big job! Blaze Don't worry, guys. AJ and I can put these lights back super fast with Blazing Speed! His boosters pop out and fire up. Blaze (to the viewer:) To give us Blazing Speed, say "Leeeeet's Blaze!" Blaze and AJ Leeeeeeet's Blaaaaaaaze! The speed unleashes and he returns the lights; STEM song reprises. AJ Shine a light Blaze Light is energy that you can see AJ Light the night Make it brighter, just increase the energy Blaze and AJ Light is energy Energy that you can see Yeah, yea-ah We're gonna shine a light Blaze Shine a light Rays of light, they illuminate the dark AJ Light the night From the sun or a little tiny spark Blaze and AJ Light is energy Energy that you can see Yeah, yea-ah We're gonna shine a light Song ends; all the lights have been returned and the Monster Machines are back at the racetrack as the crowd cheers. Zeg Yeah! Starla Whoo-hoo! Darington Way to go, Blaze! Gabby Now all the lights are back where they belong! AJ Hang on, Blaze. There's still one more light left in the bag. (pulls out a single bulb) Light Thief Whoo-hoo! I'll get it! She returns the bulb to one of the streetlights. Light Thief Whoopee! Ha ha, ooh! Blaze All right! Darington Come on, everybody! Let's go finish our race! Stripes Yeah-heh! Zeg Hee hee hee! Starla Whoo-hoo! They line up at the start. Blaze Hey, wait, I've got an idea. Now that we all have speed lights, wouldn't it be more fun to race...in the dark?! He presses a switch which turns off all the lights and gives the track neon lighting. Stripes All right! AJ Let's do it! Zeg Ooh! The Light Thief comes over with a flag. Light Thief Light Riders! On your mark...get set...GLOW! The race begins. Monster Machines (cheering) Starla Yee-haw! Zeg Whee-hee-hee-hee! Blaze Whooooo-hoo! Darington Whoo-hoo, yeah! Monster Machines (cheering) One by one they jump over a hill at the camera; Blaze jumps last as the motion slows.
