This is also the second time Watts competes in a race with Blaze's other friends after The Midnight Mile.
Unlike that episode where Watts and Gabby drives with Darington before Crusher stops them with pillow fighting robots, they drive with Blaze and AJ this time.
Going by production order, this is the thirteenth episode of the sixth season.
Unlike that episode, Blaze actually realizes Crusher blocked it.
Coincidentally in both episodes, Blaze is racing with someone instead of racing alone (Watts in this episode and Pickle in The Team Truck Challenge).
This is the first time in a race where Blaze is not next to Crusher at the starting line. Instead, it was Darington.
This is one of the very few post-Season 3 episodes to use a different recording when Blaze asks for Blazing Speed.
Pickle is the only character who did not get a present from the Golden Gift.
Watts said Zeg's name for the first time.
Going by airing order, this the last episode where Crusher cheats until "The Great Pizza Race".

Sadly, despite the episode's title, the event is actually called the Race for the Golden Gift. Though it's possible that it might be an alternative title.
When Crusher shows Blaze and Watts racing, his macaroni is gone.
When the guards got hit by something then fly away and land hardly, the banging sound somehow mean that the guards were broken, but there's no blue light or metal scraps coming behind the trees.
In the scene where Blaze and his friend had to find objects that roll to get the guards out of the way, the bowling ball, wooden block, and watermelon came out of nowhere.
