This season contains of what was originally the second half of Season 8.
This season is confirmed to be the final season by the creator Jeff Borkin as Nickelodeon decided to cancel the show after 9 seasons on the air.[1]
Production for this season and the previous season started in July 2022 and completed in November 2025.[2]
The first episode of this season debuted during Nickelodeon's "Fast-ernoons" event.
This season went on a run for 9 months and 25 days. This is the second season to run for less than a year, with the Season 8 running for 10 months and 1 day.
According to Rachel Silverman on her LinkedIn account, this season is confirmed to originally have 26 episodes, however, like other Nickelodeon shows, it was split off into two separate seasons.
This brings the series to a total of 180 episodes, surpassing the original Dora the Explorer by three episodes, since it ended with 177 episodes.
It also surpasses Dora the Explorer by one season since it ended with 8 seasons.
However, it would only be at 177 episodes, tieing with it, if the three hour-long specials weren't split into separate parts. And if the Dora the Explorer hour-long specials were split into separate parts, it would be at 190 episodes, meaning it would still be ten episodes ahead.
This makes the series the most recent cancelled Nick Jr. show to actually complete its run on the main channel, following Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies.
According to Jeff Borkin and Ellen Martin, the show creators and showrunners, new STEM topics are taught such as cohesion, disintegration, circumference, and the periodic table of elements. Those topics were announced during an interview on The Parent Watch with them celebrating the series' 10th anniversary.[3]
