This is the final episode produced at Nerd Corps Entertainment before it got acquired by DHX Media, which will take over animating the next episode onward.
Despite this the last episode of season 1 aired in 2016, it was produced in 2014 according to the end credits.
This is the first time a character gets sick. The second is Grandma Ninja in Ninja Soup.
This is also the first episode where Gabby is with Blaze for the whole episode.
There Are Currently No Episodes 21-30
The ramp flip Blaze did during the beginning seems to be somewhat a remake of the very similar scene in Blaze of Glory.
AJ, Gabby and Pickle in particular, are the only main characters in this episode who didn't get the Sneezles.
It is known that because AJ and Gabby are humans, and the Sneezles only affect the Monster Machines (or just the more proper term "trucks").
As for the other Monster Machines, the order of each getting the Sneezles is:
Blaze (but only at the very beginning of the episode, as the minute he began sneezing, Gabby was already present and had the Medicine Oil in her possession, allowing Blaze to be cured immediately thereafter).
This is the second time Blaze gets dizzy after Stuntmania!. He is shown dizzy for a moment after he sneezes and reverses into a tree.
In this episode, it is shown Blaze can ice skate.
This is the first episode where the number zero is shown (by itself), and the only episode to have a countdown to zero.
To date, this is the last appearance of the Monster Machines' pits. Though it could likely be that they haven't tried to design them in the new animation style, or they must've been mysteriously took down.
This is also the last appearance of Blaze's Season 1 face mold, though it's shown as an error for brief moments in Season 2 and 3.
Whenever a Monster Machine sneezes, a fart sound can be heard in the background.
The phrase "give [anyone] the slip" is said again by Crusher in Race to Eagle Rock.
This is the first episode where Blaze transforms while driving (or in motion). Also, AJ and Gabby shout out the parts' names with him.
This is the only season finale to date whose airing order matches its production order.
This is the only episode where the transformation interface appears before a "Let's build" prompt instead of after.
This is also the only episode to show the inside of the Monster Dome but no race nor event is held.
This is the second time crowd doesn't appear in the Monster Dome after the ending race scene in The Driving Force.
As of 2020, this episode was banned from reruns on television because it depicts the Monster Machines getting sick with a cold, which could be seen as potentially triggering for young viewers who might be concerned about catching a similar illness, especially during flu season or COVID-19 Pandemic situations; essentially, it's a preventative measure to avoid unnecessary anxiety among children watching the show.
However, this episode is still on the Fired Up! DVD, and on Paramount+.
Running Gags[]
The Monster Machines losing control when they sneeze.
Crusher doing something because he thinks he is done sneezing, ignoring Pickle's warning, and then sneezing moments later.
Allusions[]
The title could be a pun on the term "freezing cold", which is actually said from Darington in Stuntmania!.
When Crusher is shown doing gymnastics, the song "Waltz of the Flowers" is heard in the background; this is a famous piece from The Nutcracker ballet, orchestrated by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Also when the bighorns are ice skating, "The Blue Danube Waltz" by Johann Strauss II is heard.
"Give you the slip", the pun Blaze says as he slips up the bighorns with ice, means to evade or escape from anyone really fast.
The "Sneezles" were also shown in the former Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior show The Book of Pooh episode "Pooh's 24 Hour Bug".
Goofs[]
In this episode, Blaze and Crusher's pits are shown right next to each other, but in The Driving Force, their pits are shown to be three pits down from each other. Similarly, the order of the other Monster Machines’ pits is Starla-Darington-Zeg-Stripes, While in Blaze of Glory the order was Stripes-Starla-Darington-Zeg. Also in Stuntmania!, Darington’s pit was far away from the others.
Sometimes when Zeg sneezes, he has Darington's voice.
Crusher really shouldn't have been cooking in this episode, because it is unsanitary to cook when you're sick.
Even though Crusher didn't hear Pickle ever get a single Sneezle, he didn't know Pickle wasn't also sneezing throughout the entire episode.
