This is the second episode to air at 1:00 PM after Sneezing Cold.
The scene where Blaze and Stripes find the caterpillars foreshadows the predicament of Crusher and Pickle's subplot. The first caterpillar that lifts the rock might be the same one that Crusher meets.
Blaze and Stripes could've probably crossed to the other side of the bridge right before it fell apart, though this was done on purpose to teach the STEM concept of the episode.
This is the only episode where there is no scene of Crusher's subplot before going to the second location.
Running Gags[]
Whenever Crusher tries to steal the fruit from the caterpillar, it always ends with the caterpillar picking him up, spinning him around, and then sending him flying into the distance where he crashes further into the jungle.
Allusions[]
The title might be a pun on the term "spark plug".
Goofs[]
The first crack that Blaze seals up wasn’t present in the shot of the dam.
Caterpillars technically cannot lift up big rocks, trucks and fruit, like what happens in the episode. They also cannot lift things with their front legs and carry them; they only carry things on their backs.
In addition to the inaccurate design for the concrete pump truck (the real trucks cannot pump while in motion and don't carry their own concrete supply onboard), in real life, the concrete Blaze pumped into the cracks would get washed away by the streams from the cracks before it had any chance to harden.
In the STEM song, the captions list the first “structural” as “stretch of road”.
In the travel song, “here we go” is listed as “here we come” in the captions.
