The Big Balloon Rescue Trivia Trivia Gabby, Stripes, Starla, Darington, Zeg and Watts don't appear in this episode, and are the only characters who did not go to the Balloon Fair. Going by production order, this is the thirteenth episode of the fifth season. Although this episode premiered in 2020, it was produced in 2019 according to the end credits. Seventh episode to have the word "Rescue" in the title, after Rocket Ski Rescue, Raceday Rescue, Robots to the Rescue, Construction Crew to the Rescue, Royal Rescue and AJ to the Rescue. Second episode to begin with "The Big" after The Big Ant-venture. This is the second episode to air at 11:00 AM after Dragon Island Duel. This is the first time a travel song is heard after eight consecutive episodes of no travel songs. This is the first hearing of Burn Rubber since The Midnight Mile. This is the third hearing of Monster Machine Friends after Blaze of Glory and Toy Trouble!. While trapped in the hot air balloon, Crusher and Pickle get clouds stuck to their faces like how Crusher did in Runaway Rocket. The hot air balloon doesn't have any cords connected to it to increase the fire in the torch or put out the fire, which probably explains why Crusher cannot get the balloon down. The plot of the episode is the same as "Runaway Rocket", since both involve around Crusher and Pickle getting stuck on something that floats and it's up to Blaze and AJ to rescue them before they hit something dangerous. This marks the final appearance of AJ's original chime for his Visor View. Running Gags Clouds forming accessories on Crusher and Pickle. Allusions There is also an episode of Oswald (another former Nick Jr. show) titled "The Big Balloon Rescue". Goofs Before using Blazing Speed to go 100, AJ notes they've never gone that fast before. However, Blaze did go that fast in Axle City Grand Prix to escape the magnet Crusher turned on. Though it's truly possible that this takes place before that episode. In the closed-captioning: When Pickle says "And now we can go back to solid ground," "solid ground" is listed as "solidround". When AJ says "Someone's calling for help!", "someone's" is listed as "someons".
