This is the second family-themed episode after "The Pickle Family Campout", and also the second episode to have the word "family" in it overall.
This is the first time in the show's history that someone's parents appear.
Blaze's younger sister Sparkle has the same hairstyle of the littlest girl truck from Officer Blaze and Recycling Power!, and Pickle's sister Frilly.
This is the second episode with a character other than Blaze with a visible eye color after the dragon in "Knighty Knights"; in this case, Blaze's mom shares his dark blue eye color, as does Sparkle. His dad, however, has brown eyes.
This episode aired early in France on October 27, 2020.
It is also revealed that Blaze's family can transform as well, and have their own Blazing Speed boosters. They also have horns that have the same tune as Blaze, just played in different ranges.
Blaze's dad is Jess Harnell's second role in the series after Bunk the elephant. He uses virtually the same voice as Bunk.
Unlike the other episodes, this episode has a black outline on the title card opposed to the usual dark blue outline seen in every episode.
All of Blaze's relatives resemble characters from past episodes. While Sparkle obviously resembles Blaze, Blaze's dad resembles the yellow ninja truck from Meatball Mayhem and Ninja Blaze while his mom bears an uncanny resemblance to Speedrick, the former antagonist who only appeared in "Race Car Superstar".
Blaze's dad is the third Monster machine after his son and Watts to have an open roof with exposed seats, though it is unknown if Blaze's mom and Sparkle have them as well due to their hair. Blaze's dad is also the first Monster Machine since Stripes to have an exposed engine.
This episode premiered two weeks before the reboot of Animaniacs on Hulu, and surprisingly, Jess Harnell voices Wakko Warner on that TV series.
This is the fourth time Crusher's invention evaporates into dust instead of getting reduced back to junk when destroyed, following Robot Power, Snow Day Showdown, and The Trophy Chase.
Running Gags[]
Pickle telling Crusher a joke that foreshadows the arrival of the Blaze Family. This freaks Crusher out and he slips on something.
Allusions[]
Goofs[]
When Crusher breaks the bridge in the jungle, the vines above the gaps cannot be seen. When Blaze's dad decides to swing across, the vines appear.
When Blaze says "First, we need crawler treads," the captions exclude "we need".
When Bump says "Ladies and gentletrucks," the captions list "gentletrucks" as "gent-trucks".
When Bump says "It's time to find out who will cross this finish line first," the captions exclude the word "line".
There were other miscellaneous racers besides the Blazes and Crusher lining up at the start, but during The Blaze Family (song) and in the rest of the episode, the other racers have mysteriously vanished.
Although this does tend to happen in race episodes that have racers other than the main characters.
Blaze's parents should've gotten a little suspicious when they saw the flipped sign pointing toward the cave given that parents should be older and smarter than their children and should know better.
When Bump goes to congratulate the Blaze family, the Blazes don't actually look towards his direction, instead looking more towards the viewers.
When Blaze asks the viewer to estimate how many tacos the Taco-Blasting Robot blasted, he does not give the viewer enough time to respond; instead, he just answers immediately.
