The Construction Contest Trivia Trivia Stripes, Darington and Starla do not appear in this episode. Going by production order, this is the seventh episode of the sixth season. This was the fourth episode to air at 11:00 AM after Dragon Island Duel, The Big Balloon Rescue, and Space Alien Adventure!. This is a sequel to Construction Crew to the Rescue. Likewise, the episode features two of Blaze's friends. Crusher's tower in the Construction Contest uses the same model as the one in said episode. This is the first episode to premiere after a 1 month hiatus. Conditionally, this is because AJ's voice actor Jakari Fraser is also starring in Disney Junior's new original animated preschool series Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends. This marks the longest time it took for Watts to use Blazing Speed since Toy Trouble! back in Season 5. This also marks the 3rd time Watts used her electric powers since Robots in Space back in Season 4. This is the second time where Blaze becomes a construction vehicle. The first time being Construction Crew to the Rescue. But now Blaze, Starla and Stripes are not the only construction vehicles. Now, Zeg and Watts now become construction vehicles too. This is also the third time Zeg and Watts transform into a machine since Robots in Space back in Season 4, whereas their first time doing it with viewer interaction. This also marks the only time we see Watts with black tires like the other Monster Machines. So far, Darington is the only Monster Machine to never transform into a construction vehicle. Blaze does not say hello to the viewer at the beginning of the episode. Zeg interacts with the viewer for the first time. This is also the 3rd time Watts interacts with the viewers following Raceday Rescue and Toy Trouble!. This is the fifth time Blaze gets sent away by Crusher. The others were Blaze of Glory, Dragon Island Duel, The Gold Medal Games, and Sparkle's Racing Badge. However, in this episode, Crusher sent him away by accident instead of cheating to do it. This is the first time Crusher does not get upset when Blaze beats him. Likewise with Construction Crew to the Rescue, Zeg and Watts are shown to transform on their own without Blaze sending magic to them to help them transform. First time a beaver appears on the show. This is the first episode where Blaze does not say any of his catchphrases "Gaskets", "Hubcaps" and "Lug nuts". Running Gags Pickle giving Crusher fan-made tools. Allusions Goofs When Crusher asks Pickle for a screwdriver, the toolbox is missing, and it looks like Pickle is looking through nothing. In the very next shot, the crayon screwdriver appears. When Blaze says "This ride's about to get bumpy!", the closed-captions list "bumpy" as "funky". Just as in Race for the Golden Treasure and The 100 Egg Challenge, Blaze's back end is already open when the Blazing Speed engine pops out. When Blaze says "Our only chance is to build wings," he puts the stress on the word "build". During the travel song, when they say “On our wild, wild ride”, the captions say “Oh, no, no, no”.
