Gabby, Stripes, Starla, Darington and Zeg don't appear in this episode.
Going by production order, this is the fifteenth episode of the third season.
This is the final episode of the "Wild Wheels" miniseries, and the final appearances of Animal Island and its inhabitants to date.
This is the second episode with no travel song after Animal Island.
This marks the second time Blaze and Crusher fight over an object after The Driving Force. The problem that coincides with such is the same as said episode.
This episode continues the tradition of Blaze getting a new job or position once per season. In Blaze of Glory, he became a Monster Machine racer, while in Fired Up!, he becomes a firefighter.
There are some unnoticable hints that Blaze will become king:
The crown is much too big to fit on the heads of the animals, almost as big as Blaze is.
The animals say the king should be helpful, kind, and a friend to everyone on the island. Blaze fits all of those descriptions.
When Bunk makes his final decision, he says "Monster Machine" when announcing the ruler. Blaze is the only Monster Machine present among all the animal trucks, which makes the decision quite obvious.
A lion can be seen in the center point of the crown; Blaze turned himself into a lion twice during the miniseries.
This is one of few episodes where Blaze’s adventure goes from right to left; normally a main path takes him from left to right.
This is the only Wild Wheels episode where Blaze goes to Animal Island alone.
Last Season 3 episode to feature a viewer greeting.
Running Gags[]
Pickle tries to find the “speed up” button, but the buttons he push cause something to drop on Crusher’s head.
Allusions[]
When Crusher gets hit with crayons, he shouts “D'oh!”, which is Homer Simpson’s famous catchphrase on The Simpsons.
Goofs[]
When the crown is placed on Blaze, it is much smaller than normal, but a few scenes later it’s its regular size.
Skyler is not present when Blaze presents the crown, but shows up when wondering who the king will be. In addition, Skyler sits on Bunk's back as they mutter over who should be king, but when Crusher is taking the crown and for the rest of the scene, Skyler is replaced with a grey falcon.
